Festival tickets and clinic tickets are separate purchases! If you’d like to participate in a clinic, you will need to purchase both a festival and a clinic ticket. If you are not interested in a clinic, you will only need to purchase a festival ticket. We are unable to sell just clinic tickets.

2023 Clinics

  • Gym to Crag

    Discover the world of outdoor rock climbing! If you have been climbing or bouldering at the gym but have not made the step to the outside yet or don’t feel comfortable in this environment yet, this clinic is for you! We will go over anchors, cleaning anchors, rappelling and safety! Of course, plenty of r o c k climbing will be involved as well.

    This clinic is appropriate for all climbing levels.

  • Managing Fear and Stress on Rock

    Do you climbing, but feel your fear holds you back? Or, do you struggle to send when the pressure is on? How about your relationship with the sport, does it feel sustainable? Join Karly Rager for this clinic to learn more about your stress (it is not “all in your head”) and specific tools you can practice to improve your relationship with it!

    Join Karly Rager Founder of Project Direct Coaching, MS, CPT, SPI) for this rad topic! Hone your skills and learn some new ones!

  • Self-Rescue Skills

    Learning tools and understanding your options for when things do not go as planned is an invaluable skill for all climbers! Approach your climbing day with more confidence and safety by taking this clinic.

    Participants in this clinic will learn...

    • Most common climbing knots and hitches: because we need these to create solutions

    • Concepts: Assisted braking devices (ABD's): advantages for their use. We want clean systems and the simplest solution.

    • Ascending methods

    • Lowering & hauling

    This clinic is appropriate for climbers of all levels!

  • Adaptive Climber's Clinic

    This clinic is led by USA Climbing Team athlete Cail Soria. This clinic is for the mostly mobily independent. We will focus on getting out and having fun with a backbone in helpful adaptations/beta for adaptive athletes with varying disabilities. No prior experience needed.

    About Cail (she/her) is a photographer, filmmaker, and an adaptive athlete. During the winter, she spends her days snowboarding and in the summer you will find her at the crag. Cail is on the USA Climbing team and is currently training for the World Cup Series. She is passionate about sharing her love for climbing and bringing forth more accessibility and inclusion in outdoor spaces.

  • First time rock

    First Time Rock

    You want to know what’s all about? But you have never or only barley touched rock? This clinic is for you! We will go over the basics of rock climbing, safety and fun! We will climb some rocks in a safe and supportin environment. We have limited availability of rental gear. This clinic is appropriate for: beginner.

  • Climbing Movement with Bronwyn Hodgins and Karly Rager

    Learn how to climb efficiently with your strength! Bronwyn and Karly will share their experience with you about the most important climbing movement concepts!

    Topics include: Counter balance with trailing foot, hip positioning, footwork drills, and more!

    This clinic is appropriate for those climbing 5.9 or higher.

    This clinic is brought to the festival by Rab Equipment.

The clinics at the Montana Womens Climbing Festival are conducted by Beartooth Mountain Guides.

Financial assistance

Depending on the amount of the donations and our sponsors we can offer financial assistance to anyone who feels like they can not affort the festival and clinic prices. Please reach out to us with the following information: Your name, contact information and how much you need to be covered. We want to gather Montana climbers to strenghten our community and money should not be the terminating factor.

  • Anchor Building

    Project Wild Climbing offers an anchor building clinic at Allenspur by Livingston. We will go over anchor building, cleaning practices and rapelling, and of course: climbing!

  • Intro to Lead Climbing

    Project Wild Climbing offers the second day that weekend an intro to lead climbing. Learn how to safely clip bolts and asses the terrain you’re climbing in. We will climb at Allenspur in Livingston, MT.

  • Intro to Multi-Pitch trad or sport

    Learn with Lindsay and Anju the skills to move in multi-pitch terrain. This 2 day course is meant for climbers who know how to lead climb and belay. We will go over anchor building, belay techniques, route finding and rapelling. Part 1 of this series is located in the Bozeman area and depends on the partcipants ability to trad or sport climb. This course is operated by Monatana Mountaineering Association.

  • Intro to Multi-Pitch Part 2

    Beartooth Mountain Guides offers the second part of this series: Refine your skills for multi-pitch terrain. You do not have to participate in part 1 for this course. You need to know how to belay and we will go over trad anchors, belay techniques, route finding and rapelling. We will climb in the beautiful Beartooth mountains at East Rosebud, MT.
    August 31 - Sep 1
